Job Summary

This role will coordinate all activities as part of shared service for the Diagnostic, Surgical, and Breast and Skeletal Health Divisions to ensure that all equipment that requires calibration is calibrated on time. This role will entail reviewing completed calibrations, providing early warning notice to equipment owners, retrieving equipment, sending it out for calibration, coordinating on-site calibration activity with calibration suppliers, performing preventative maintenance of fixture kit components, scanning, data entry, and other duties related to maintaining an efficient, and compliant equipment control system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the below mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs. 

  • Reviews completed certificates of calibration for electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Runs Agile inquiries and reviews equipment status reports on a weekly basis to manage equipment coming due for calibration. Coordinates with QA supervisor to assign action items to the team as to what requires calibration or needs follow-up to maintain a compliant equipment control system
  • Works with Internal departments and calibration service suppliers to arrange for timely handling of equipment requiring calibration.
  • Handles incoming emails from both internal and external customers, and responds to inquiries, complaints, billing questions, and payment requests.
  • Provides data for various tracking/trending reports pertaining to the status of the calibrated equipment.
  • Provides training, support, and education to all equipment owners/system users as it relates to the Equipment control system; including training to specific work instructions
  • Reviews and approves new equipment added to the system, including setting up the correct family structure.
  • Reviews and approves requested extensions and coordinates re-labeling activity.
  • Reviews and approves requests to have equipment removed from the system, closes all tasks, and works with the owners to label/quarantine equipment.
  • Initiates and processes field service request electronically.
  • Initiates Equipment Investigation Reports to equipment owners for appropriate equipment that fails calibration.
  • Maintains the accuracy and integrity of data in the system.
  • Builds and Configures new calibrated fixture kits per the yearly established forecast.
  • Ships equipment to Field Service Engineers



  • High school degree or equivalent with some technical experience or equivalent quality technician training / experience / certifications.


  • Minimum of 2-3 years related experience coordinating equipment control activities, preferably in the medical device industry.
  • Previous experience with coordinating calibrated electrical equipment.
  • Experience with Oracle and Agile preferred, but not required.


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Working knowledge of equipment control type databases
  • Must be familiar with basic electrical instruments
  • Very high level of attention to details
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must be capable of prioritizing and have excellent organizational skills.
  • Must have analytical and administrative skills.

  • Sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Lifting/pushing/pulling and carrying products weighing up to 45 pounds
  • Potential Exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration and/or moderate noise levels.
  • Potential Exposure to hazardous chemicals or other materials.
  • Potential Exposure to blood.
