The Demand Planning Manager is responsible for coordinating, reviewing, and ultimately consolidating regional demand forecasts to ensure an effective and predictable Sales & Operations (S&OP) process.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

Major Responsibilities:
  1. Leads demand management activities for each monthly S&OP cycle including:
    • Coordinates development of product forecasts by region over short/medium/long term planning horizon (ie. 24+ months rolling forecast)
    • Review forecasts in conjunction with Sales Ops., Distributors, and CRM tools
    • Analyses  key customer ordering patterns, product sales trends, and the impact of Product/Marketing plans on the regions to improve predictability of forecasts
    • Develops the monthly KPI package and drives improvements related to demand management - including, but not limited to: forecast accuracy, exception management, execution reliability, Phase-in-Phase-out, revenue, volume, margin, etc. 
    • Follows up with required stakeholders to resolve forecast issues and improve accuracy
    • Partner with Finance to perform the monthly Financial Forecasting submission, factoring avg. selling price, mix, and margin to ensure monthly Financial realisation
    • Identifies risks and opportunities and develops scenario plans to optimise results
    • Clearly documents assumptions underpinning the forecast, as well as key changes, market shifts, confidence intervals, etc.
    • Work with Product Management and Marketing stakeholders to develop detailed plans for the introduction of new products and phase-out of discontinued products
    • Formally handover monthly demand plans to supply planners for fulfilment i.e. Demand and Supply balancing 
  1. Ownership of Monthly Regional Demand Reviews (RDRs)
    • Supports preparation and facilitation of Regional Demand Reviews and other associated S&OP meetings, including consolidation and distribution of presentation materials, presentation of plans, meeting notes/action items, etc.
    • Provide facilitation support for Executive S&OP monthly meetings
    • Provide Executives with effective information to support business planning decisions
    • Works with management team to identify and resolve issues in support of S&OP
    • Reports on health of all steps of the demand management process 
  1. Support Implementation & Process Improvement
    • Supports the ongoing process improvement of S&OP process with focus on demand
    • Help drive organisational adoption of the S&OP process through education & coaching
    • Partner as required to build collaborative planning processes with partners (customer value chain) to increase global supply chain visibility
    • Form and lead cross-functional teams involving Marketing, Product/R&D, Finance, Sales to continually enhance demand plans and forecast accuracy
    • Liaise with Coordinators and Owners of each element in the S&OP process
    • Provide analytical support to improve the quality and timeliness of S&OP data reporting (sales, production, inventory, project risks, uncertainties, etc).
    • Escalate barriers and project status to Execs/Steering team
    • Supports implementation of S&OP enabling software and related tools

The successful candidate will have:
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build credible relationships with multiple internal functions, and where applicable, external strategic business partners
  • Strong experience in Demand Planning and/or Sales & Operations Planning
  • Experience implementing new business processes and driving organisational change
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills including statistical analysis
  • Advanced knowledge of operations/manufacturing systems, including S&OP/MRP concepts
  • Advanced knowledge of S&OP systems and processes
  • PC Proficiency – MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Oracle ERP and Kinaxis RR Planning software a plus
  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain or related field
