Job Summary

Generate material requirements and production plans per product delivery schedules for manufactured components and assemblies via computerized, interactive MRP system environment. Responsible for maintaining a continuous flow of material from order entry to final delivery in support of customer and marketing forecast requirements while ensuring maximum inventory turn rates through proper ordering techniques. 

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the below mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs. 

  • Coordinates production plans to ensure materials are provided according to schedules to maintain production and provides input to management.

  • Support the development and management of Long Range Planning supply strategies.

  • Proactively identify and manage risks associated with meeting inventory targets and develop contingency plans around risks as needed.

  • Support the development of processes, procedures, and reporting Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes. Provide input into the monthly S&OP supply review. Support creation of presentation materials in addition to presenting key supply chain metrics to a cross functional team.

  • Improve, develop, and implement planning and reporting tools through the use of ERP (Oracle), MS Excel, Qlikview/Qliksense, and others technologies to improve inventory management, production planning, scheduling, and capacity assessments.

  • Refine and actively manage planning data and assumptions to enable accurate planning analyses and scheduling.

  • Use specialist knowledge, analytical skills, judgment and broad conceptual and practical experience to solve complex problems and to contribute to process improvements.

  • Interface with customer service, marketing, production, quality control and sales to review back order status, prioritize production orders and other potential schedule interruptions or rescheduling to mitigate customer impacts.

  • Act as single point of contact from planning for product scheduling/planning.

  • Articulate and communicate difficult or sensitive information at levels of the organization.

  • Expedite operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions; includes estimating, sensitivity analysis and scenario projections.

  • Develop and maintain a forward looking supply plan based on capacity, forecast and safety stock demand signals. Provide continuous analysis of the production plan and adjust to level load and ensure full utilization of stated manufacturing capacity.

  • Conduct detailed material analysis monthly to identify material constraints. Work closely with Procurement, Internal Suppliers, Engineering and Logistics to address supply shortfalls. Implement short term mitigation places to manage through periods of constrained supply.

  • Perform and support various supply scenario analyses and assessments to validate business requirements and supply capabilities based on forecasted demand.

  • Support the efforts to drive and achieve departmental goals and objectives.

  • Maintains a satisfactory training record in accordance with company policies.

Education          

 
  • Undergraduate degree required in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations Management or related fields at minimum.

  • Graduate degree (preferred) that provides knowledge of theories, principles and concepts within a discipline.

 Experience         

 

8 or more years’ experience working in a related supply chain/planning/manufacturing role is required.

 

 

 

Skills

 
  • High degree of self-reliance required, must thrive in a fast paced and dynamic work environment with shifting demands, priorities, and timelines.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal), and influencing skills.

  • Proven ability to be hands on within a heavy workload environment and tight deadlines.

  • Strong quantitative skills, with ability to consolidate complex data and formulate into sound recommendations to drive business decision making.

  • Ability to lead and facilitate priorities and activities across cross functional teams.

  • Comprehensive understanding of MRP, Supply chain, DRP and supply planning.

  • Expertise in use of MS Excel, Qliksense BI, Oracle ERP, Agile, and other applications.

  • Bioscience/Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.

  • APICS CPIM or CSCP Certification preferred.

  • Knowledge of FDA, Compliance, GMP guidelines preferred.
