Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Technical Support Specialist who will provide phone and email support to both internal and external customers including troubleshooting issues with Hologic’s molecular diagnostics products and technology. 



Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the below mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs. 

  • Provides customers with service and product troubleshooting via telephone and email.  Troubleshooting includes Clinical Diagnostics and Blood Screening products.
  • Provides documentation of calls in CRM system; escalates issues requiring further investigation.
  • Authorizes return of customer product for investigation.
  • Determines replacement of product as warranted.
  • Performs 24/7 technical and application support, as needed. 


Potential Growth Opportunities

  • Represent Technical Support as specialist for designated product(s).
  • Serve as a liaison to other departments concerning issues relating to product line.  
  • Serve on product development or support teams. Provides Technical Support team with troubleshooting training & informational updates.
  • Work with Marketing & Service departments in the launch of new products; review or create label copy; participate in pre- and post-launch teams.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to other Technical Support personnel.
  • Work as a liaison to partners or distributors.
  • Write and review procedures.



Education and Required Skills

  • BA/BS or higher degree
  • Flexible and able to handle multiple tasks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills


Desirable Experience and Skills

  • Previous Technical Support experience
  • Experience with RT PCR, virology or cytology
  • Med Tech/clinical lab background
  • Ability to troubleshoot Laboratory Information Systems interfaces and/or network computers
