Reporting to the Senior Manager, Health Policy & Reimbursement and serving as a key member of Hologic’s growing Health Policy team, the Senior Analyst, Health Policy & Reimbursement will play a vital role in driving U.S. health policy, reimbursement, coverage and preventive screening strategies for Hologic’s current product offerings and acquired technologies in both Breast and Skeletal Health and GYN Surgical Solutions.

A fundamental priority for this position will be executing sustainable business plans to ensure that patient access and reimbursement strategies are aligned with both corporate and division business objectives. This position will also be charged with keeping the Breast & Skeletal Health and GYN Surgical Solutions divisions informed of current and future health care and economic trends, legislation and health policy in all relevant disease states.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Support the development of reimbursement, health economics and market access strategies to promote growth in the Breast and Skeletal Health and GYN Surgical businesses units
  • Oversee/conduct market research; review and report on market dynamics, coverage, coding, payment, and health system trends
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales and Health Economics field teams to anticipate market needs and develop customer-facing tools, economic models and other tactical elements of reimbursement to maximize patient access to Hologic technologies
  • Develop project materials within given timelines and produce/deliver written reports for presentations
  • Monitor government policy and payment websites, including CMS, FDA, and CDC to track and report on key agency initiatives impacting health policy and payment
  • Monitor and draft initial analysis of CMS for key rules impacting payment and policy including the proposed and final rules for the MPFS, HOPPS/ASC 

The successful candidate will possess knowledge of U.S. health policy with hands-on experience proactively impacting coverage, coding and reimbursement changes with federal, state, and private payers. Experience with medical devices, including imaging and surgical products, is a strong advantage.

The Senior Analyst, Health Policy & Reimbursement will need to interface closely with the Health Economics, Sales and Marketing teams. A bachelor’s degree is required.

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the health care industry
  • Understanding of key public and private payer policy infrastructure, payment methodologies coding and coverage; health policy trends, and current business challenges
  • Reimbursement/market access experience including a proven track record of interpreting and assessing the reimbursement environment for medical devices
  • Demonstrated success and experience in reimbursement and health economics in the support of product strategies
  • Demonstrated responsiveness and sense of urgency when pursuing goals and completing tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguity and continuously adapt, set and manage priorities, manage multiple cross functional projects
  • The desire and capability to personally do heavy lifting – this role is ideal for candidates who enjoy both strategy and execution
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with intricate planning and strong tactical execution
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially presentation development
