Scope:

This role will be responsible for executing product and customer-facing initiatives while supporting initiatives that strengthen the product pipeline and improve customer market share, customer satisfaction, and profit margins for their assigned product category. S/he will contribute to development of global brand strategies by supporting the Product Director in annual business planning and 5-year strategic planning process. The product portfolio for this position consists of image analytics software for breast imaging, including application of AI for cancer detection in mammography images.

 
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Commercial Results - Achieve U.S. business plan objectives of sales, net income, gross profit, inventory and price on an annual basis. Support needs of the International division in a Global Franchise model. Manage expenses within budget.
  • Market Fundamentals – Strong understanding of, and ability to apply, marketing fundamentals to deliver insight driven innovation.  Able to identify and communicate customer needs and translate into product requirements. Strong understanding of segmentation, targeting and positioning.  Able to develop compelling value propositions and ensure consistent and compelling messaging and claims.
  • Product Management – Effectively support the management of technically complex product lines to achieve defined business objectives. Manages lifecycle of product portfolio. Provides input into next generation products. Manage the removal of products from market (obsolescence).
  • Customer Insights - Partner with Market Insights to execute market research initiatives around customer needs and product validation. Provide product and market expertise to assist in their execution. Stay connected with market needs through frequent interaction with customers (co-travel with sales, attendance at industry meetings, review medical journals, etc.).
  • Analytics – Support the development of market opportunity assessments, pricing analysis, demand forecasting, and set goals and track metrics of demand generation initiatives.
  • Tactical Execution – Work closely with manager to assist in the development of business plans related to area of focus (i.e. business segment, product, region, etc.). Collaborate with other functional areas to execute assigned areas of responsibility within the plan. Apply understanding of the sales process to develop well positioned market messaging that can drive customer behavior. Partner with the sales force and sales training to effectively deploy.
  • Product Development –Partner with Global Strategic Innovation and R&D counterparts to lead innovation process and product development programs. Responsible for contributing to product scope, providing design inputs, validating product design, and development of launch messaging and materials, set configurations, etc. Leverage strong understanding of product development process and functional areas (quality, regulatory, etc.) to ensure on-time launches.
  • Product Launch – Responsible for supporting impactful worldwide product launches. Specific responsibilities include assisting in the development of marketing materials for all key stakeholders (salesforce, physicians, hospitals, patients, payers, etc.), price strategy, promotional plan, product training plan (salesforce & customers), product forecasting, inventory roll-out plan, sales tools, etc.
  • Cross-functional Team Member – Partners with cross-functional stakeholders including Medical Education, Sales, Finance, R&D, and others to deliver maximum effectiveness of the Marketing organization. Partner with Integrated Brand Marketing, Customer & Field Marketing and Tradeshow groups to build promotional plans around key events and provide on-site support. Partner closely with Sales Teams to gather input on customer needs and ensure strong alignment with product and company strategy. Be responsive to requests from customers and sales.

Qualifications:
Must be able to effectively participate on cross-functional teams to support the commercial strategy and execute the tactical plans; understand and communicate commercial and competitive implications of complex technical/clinical/regulatory data, and interact with R&D colleagues on scientific issues; demonstrate excellent strategic thinking and strong communication skills.


Education:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required, with 3-7 years’ experience;
  • MBA with a focus on Marketing, Strategy or other related topic is strongly preferred.  
Experience:
Required:
  • At least 3 -5 years of work experience in medical device, consumer marketing, or related field
  • Experience working with customers
  • Solid understanding of marketing fundamentals
  • Sense of urgency and big picture orientation with attention to detail
Preferred:
  • Product launch and experience in working with global teams
  • Strong understanding of software development or experience bringing software products to market
  • Consumer product marketing experience
  • Global experience
  • Development and launch excellence for new products, services and programs to the healthcare community
  • Successful interactions with key customers and sales force
  • Payer and patient advocacy experience
Specialized Knowledge:
  • Experience with AI, deep learning a plus
  • Experience with breast imaging or medical imaging in general a plus
 
Additional Details:

This position requires up to 25% domestic travel, including overnight and weekend travel.
