Sr. Process engineer on a growing manufacturing team specializing in vapor deposition coating.  Responsibilities include supporting manufacturing and development activities. Maintain & control processes, troubleshoot problems, improve yield, performance, cycle time, etc. Work in a team and as an individual contributor.  Relocation package available.


Familiarity with semiconductor processing and SPC; good analytical and problem solving skills; strong team player. Communication skills, project management. Class ISO5 minimum clean room experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the below mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs. 

  • Perform necessary experiments to establish robust processes and a thorough understanding of capabilities and interactions with upstream and downstream processes.
  • Define equipment needs and production strategy.
  • Establish design rules, metrology and process controls.
  • Sustain and improve processes for imaging device fabrication.
  • Interface with equipment engineering, management and manufacturing to improve cycle time, tool availability, process/product yield, and drive cost reductions.
  • Partner with product engineering and R&D to ensure effective new product and process introductions as well as consistent device performance and quality.
  • Create and maintain operating specifications for production processes and equipment.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Physical Demands

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

  • Sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Lifting/moving and carrying products weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration and/or moderate noise levels.

  • B.S. or M.S in chemistry, physics, materials science, or similar discipline
  • 5-10 years in Manufacturing environment
  • Preference given to experience in semiconductor foundry process engineering
  • Familiarity with design of experiments, and the ability to analyze and interpret statistical data for test events
  • Experience with structured problem-solving methods including model-based, 8D, fishbone, and 5 whys
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work on abstract problems with limited direction while developing strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders
  • Accepts accountability for assigned tasks.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
