Position Summary

A Senior Systems Quality Assurance Engineer focuses on understanding requirements – including User Needs and Design Requirements early in the development cycle. He/She works with the Test Architects to develop V&V Plans/Protocols. He/She is responsible to generate, execute and maintain the V&V Schedule – working with SQA Manager(s) in identifying resources with the appropriate skill set(s) – both Hologic and variable organization resources.  

 

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

As a part of an enthusiastic, dynamic, results-oriented Engineering team of systems, mechanical, electrical, and software development engineers, scientists, and Marketing folks - working to define and develop Hologic’s best-in-class digital mammography products, the Senior SQA Engineer will:

·        Scope Verification and Validation efforts for both Hologic and variable organization resources

·        Work closely with appropriate subject matter experts in developing an understanding of Hologic products and their use in clinical practice

·        Work with Test Architects to gain understanding of product architecture and provide technical guidance and oversight to Test Engineers

·        Supply SQA Project Managers with overall project status, engagement and resource needs, and propose solutions for correcting issues and plans for improving team engagement

·        Apply and share best practices and develop processes in conjunction with SQA Project Managers

 

Qualifications   

·        Demonstrated understanding of:

o   Requirements based hardware and software testing best practices

o   Test Automation and its application to Hardware and Software environments

o   interactions among components in a complex system and how they affect system performance

o   testing the capabilities and limitations of software, electronic, and mechanical engineering designs

·        Ability to:

o   work well with diverse groups of people, interact effectively with cross-functional teams and partner with functional managers and other departments

o   manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously and adapt to changes in program priorities

o   own execution of project test plans to deliver test procedures and artifacts including successful engagement of external partners

o   provide requirements and test case authors with feedback for completeness, accuracy, and ability to implement and test

o   communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally

·        Proficient with Test engineering methodologies/tools

·        Familiar with automated test tools and defect tracking

Education

·        Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline. Other disciplines may be considered based on experience. Post-graduate degrees a plus.

 

Experience

·        At least 7 years of software and/or hardware testing experience

·        Previous work in a similar role interfacing with or from a contract firm

·        Medical imaging or experience in an FDA-regulated environment a plus

·        Demonstrated capability of leading geographically distributed Test Engineering Teams in a Technical role

 

Additional Details

·        Occasional travel to Hologic facilities and variable organization locations – local (within US)  and international travel
